Are you working in epidemiology, public health or vector-borne disease research? The One Health Vector-Borne Diseases Hub (VBD Hub) is an open-source platform for global data sharing, exploration and collaboration on vector-borne diseases (e.g. Zika, Dengue, Malaria, Lyme disease and other zoonoses). Built by Imperial College London and curated by experts, VBD Hub champions FAIR data principles and provides researchers with the tools they need to drive innovation in disease surveillance and control.
Key Features
- Comprehensive Data Search – Find occurrence, abundance, trait, genomic and transcriptomic datasets as well as epidemiological records.
- R Package Integration – Use the VBD Hub R package for seamless data import, wrangling and visualization.
- Interactive Tools – Explore mapping and charting functionality for spatial analysis and time-series modelling.
- Community Forum – Join the discussion on forum.vbdhub.org to share SOPs, best practices and network with peers.
- Blog & Newsletter – Stay up to date on the latest research, training workshops and roadmap milestones.
The VBD Hub accelerates vector-borne disease research by integrating diverse datasets, from mosquito and tick distribution to pathogen genomics and outbreak data. By fostering collaboration and FAIR data sharing, it supports One Health approaches to tackle malaria, dengue, Lyme disease and other threats.
